Optimus Story
Optimus is a dog with a heartwarming personality. His striking appearance is matched only by his charming demeanor. He’s looking for a forever home that understands his unique needs and can provide him with a loving and quiet environment.
Optimus is incredibly friendly and gets along well with people. He loves meeting new friends and is sure to greet them with a wagging tail and a big smile. This pup adores belly rubs, and playing with toys is one of his favorite pastimes. Whether it’s a game of fetch or tug-of-war, he’s always up for some fun. Optimus is a water-loving dog. If you have a pool or live near a lake, you’ll be amazed at how much he enjoys splashing around. Optimus has a good grasp of basic commands like sit, down, and shake/give paw. He’s eager to please and will happily show off his skills.
Optimus is one of the sweetest dogs you will meet, but he will bond very hard with one person and then become very possessive and guard them. If that person is not in the room he will be
very sweet, but as soon as they come back in, he will look to guard “his person”. Because of this, Optimus would do best in a home with a single person. If any guests come over he will have to be put away in a crate or a different room. To the person that he bonds to, he’s going to be very affectionate and playful and overall a great dog, but he should
not be in a home that has multiple people, or who is looking to have a lot of company coming over. He should also be the only dog in the home, because if he is looking to guard someone from another family member, he’ll most likely look to guard that person from another dog. Optimus is about 6 years old and 75 pounds.
Things to Consider
The fact that you’re thinking about adopting from an animal shelter means you’re a responsible and caring person. But BEFORE you make that decision to bring a furry friend into your life, take a moment to think over these questions:
